When cleaning cabinets you must be sure that whatever solution you are using does not wear away the finish on the wood. Learning how to clean cabinets properly can make your cabinets not only look cleaner but also last longer.
- Create a spray bottle solution of 50% vinegar & 50% warm water. This will often work the best for removing stains from cabinets without removing the varnish or shellac from the wood. Lightly spray the mixture and let it sit for 2-3 minutes before wiping it off.
- Always use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe the exterior of the cabinets.
- Only use a little elbow grease to remove heavy grease and grime buildup in a careful manner. Protecting the cabinet’s finish and integrity should always be priority.
- For grease or muck in tough corners of the cabinets, use a toothbrush dipped in the cleaner.
- Wipe the cleaner on the inside of the doors and drawers to insure it is fully disinfected.
- Dry all surfaces thoroughly with a clean towel when complete.
